I was surprised how quickly this excerpt pulled me in. Not my usual first choice of genre, but it speaks to me on so many levels. The south and farming are in my background, so I could see the combine accident and all the community coming together. And Pete... worshipping his father and being so scared. Issac... what is going on? Does this accident have anything to do with his disappearance? I can't wait to find out.
