I wasn't quickly drawn in by the cover, but the synopsis sounded great, so I decided to read the excerpt. This excerpt is very short - only 4 pages of text to read and review. Overall, I find the story interesting, but not really a genre that I typically read. The reader gets its first glimpses at the main characters as well as witness a family tragedy. I think this book has the potential to be a unique historical fiction.
