I love when books start with a big event right away, it sets the scene for the whole story. This book does that with what you assume from the first chapter is the death of Pete's father. What will happen to Pete now as a fatherless boy who idol worshiped his father? Why was Isaac wet, had he tried to save Jack before he went to get the family or something else? Why does Isaac disappear eventually? These are all questions I want answers to.
