Great story with a touch of magic...
I had a feeling I was going to love this book when I saw the cover and read the synopsis. I also read a first look on Bookish.com and was delighted that I could use the points I accumulated to order an Uncorrected Proof.
The story definitely lived up to my expectations! The main characters were well developed with personal resentments toward others that went back many years. I loved how the author gradually had them work through the problems that were brought about years ago. I also really liked how unique some of the characters were. Mr. Cat and the blackbirds added an extra special touch. The author, Heather Webber, added so many wonderful details, it was a pleasure to read.
I liked how sex scenes and cursing were absent from the book; however, it was a bit of a disappointed when Anna Kate has a man spend the night that she only knew for about 5 weeks and did not particularly spend a lot of time with before this.
This is a 4 star book in my opinion.
