I absolutely loved Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe. It pulled me right in. With vivid descriptions and well developed characters this book had all of the elements to make it a five star read for me. Set in a small Southern town it's rich with complicated family dynamics, grief and love. Anna Kate had to return to Wicklow due to the death of her Granny Zee and ended up staying longer than planned to run the Cafe. But what she didn't know was she had to stay for herself. To grow, heal and forgive. Slowly she peels back the layers of family secrets as she meets family she never knew. The legend behind the Blackbird Pie adds a lovely magical component to this story and it made me truly want to believe it is more than just a "legend". While reading this story I was totally immersed and due to Heather Webber's ability to tell a story, I forgot it was a work of Fiction. I am excited to recommend it to friends, family and my fellow Readers.
