If you like Southern fiction, this is the one for you. I love the small town feel and how the blackbirds were magical like in bringing back their departed loved ones via dreams by eating blackberry pie. A lot of stories going on in this small town.
The characters were wonderful and I loved everyone of them. There were a lot of characters and I won't mention all of them but AnnaKate was one of the main ones going back "home" to run her grandmother's cafe after her death as her wish in her will. AnnaKate only wanted to go to medical school, per her mother's wish but was working at the cafe during the Summer.
