I really enjoyed this sampling. Based on the cover and the summary, I wouldn't normally pick this book up, but I'm getting a taste for literary fiction. The story is well written and the characters hint at their backstory just enough to keep you glued to the page.
The cover fits really well with the story. It has the right aesthetic along with a hint of the what the story is.
I definitely want to continue reading this book. I love the story that's been started and can't wait to read more about the family drama and the blackbirds and the pie.
