Southern Family Drama meets Weird Gothic Stuff?

I'm getting "Bellman and Black" vibes from this story; it's super interesting, as it's two elements straddle some of my interests and non-interests, so I'm both intrigued and unsure. But I love this cover and I enjoy the narrative voices.
