Really a good read but not my favourite

So the story is of Anna Kate gone to her grandma Zee's funeral in a small town Wicklow . Story has a greyish atmosphere to it which is not too dark and not too light even. Just somewhere in between. Every character is dealing with his her/problems. The author though has not been able to make a really dark mood given the number of troubled characters we have met till now. But I dont think that the author does even ant to go to the other side of the line.The novel till now has nothing what I would call a standout or memorable feature but still is above average as the author till now has done not much wrong. For me its a nice novel(till now as I have only read an excerpt from it yet) but not my favourite and you too will surely enjoy reading it. In the three chapters I have read the story is being told in first person pov by two characters(Anna kate and Natalie).The plot is being revealed slowly with a patient build up and has full potential to be a very good novel,even if the author keeps the same writing style.
I am really looking forward to read to complete this novel as its looks promising till now. So, I would say it will ( hopefully) be an enjoyable read even though its just a little shy in terms of tension and darkness in the atmosphere for me.
