Magical Realism in the Vein of Sarah Addison Allen
I was draw in initially by the rich blue of the cover against the stark white of the lettering. Reading the synopsis further piqued my interest, as I am a very big fan of magical realism reads.
The writing flows easily so far and the character of Anna Kate seems to be strong and independent...a potentially powerful female lead. There is certainly a mystery about her surroundings and the nature of her fate. I am intrigued and wish to learn more.
I am a large fan of Sarah Addison Allen's writing and Webber's prose feels like a very similar approach. There is southern charm and magical bits along with female characters who can make the plot stand strongly. I am looking forward to reading more!
