I really like the potential for rich relationships and the fantastical concept of this book. My main concern from the preview is that the development seems superficial so far, the connection between the main character and her grandmother somewhat flimsy. I would like to continue reading this book in the hope that we can dive deeper into that relationship and the story of the blackbirds. I do think the cover is very nice.
