The cover art conveys the story perfectly and is very striking. Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe includes Southern charm and magical realism, which is a familiar theme as of late. My first impression is that this novel is the perfect summer read for those who are fans of the genre. I am interested in the backstory surrounding the cafe, Zee, and Anna Kate. I would definitely pick this book up at the library or my local bookstore, as I am interesting in where the author takes the characters.
