What caught my attention to begin with was the wonderful description of the setting the story is set in. Being from a small southern town myself it pulled me right in and made me want to instantly pick up this book and find out more about the characters. I felt a connection with Anna Kate immediately, having lost my own grandmother you can sense the pain that she feels and it brings with it an empathy for that loss. You get a sense of who she is and what she has to face in just a few short words. The connection that Anna begins to have for Wicklow and the people within in it truly shows how the magic of a small town can capture the heart of someone in need of love and support. The struggle she goes through is evident in the authors words, and going along for the ride with her seems worth the emotional roller coaster that this book is sure to be. I myself can't wait to dive into this work of art and see where the author takes me.
