If you've ever felt out of place and like you didn't fit in, this book is for you. When you get past the very timely topics of race it's about someone who never quite felt like he fit in. The characters are nuanced. An Indian main character that has tried to assimilate. Which, I liked. The situations are not always comfortable. That's what makes it real and that's what makes it resonate.
Having complicated feelings about a main character sometimes fuels your desire to read more. That's the case with this book. Books should also (from time to time) make you slightly uncomfortable and face certain truths. Watching as it all unfolds feels very real. Which, is what you want out of a good book.
