This was an entertaining novel that had enough depth to be an engaging read, while also having the pacing and lightness to make this a great beach read or waiting room book to relax with.

The main character is extremely realistic and relatable. I could imagine the characters being people I know, flaws and all. The author did an excellent job of humanizing everyone and making the characters well-rounded individuals, rather than just being plot points. I felt anxiety and repeatedly cringed on behalf of the main character while reading and couldn’t wait to keep going to find out what happens next, and how he will inevitably make it more awkward or uncomfortable then have to dig out of the situation.

Despite being a light and funny novel, this addressed some major societal issues and shed light on how some parts of our daily lives ripple out to affect many other people.
