Intrigued but cautious because it seemed like a topic done too much

Having read a book about the limited opportunities for those in India, ( and loving it), I immediately was attracted to the story because of the author. Not belonging either because of being of mixed heritage, I found common ground. I remind myself of the Dr Seuss line, “ Why fit in when you were meant to stand out?” Not fitting in is what I expect and it seems that what the author expects regardless of what he thinks may transpire. I would be really interested to see how an Indian man married to a very accepted white wife handles himself when he is shunned. Though in my experience both parts of the couple are shunned. The white for going beneath her class and the nonwhite for trying to attain what he had no right to.
