I'm intrigued by the concept but the beginning seemed to be a bit too on the nose and heavy-handed... am I really supposed to believe that this random white lady has never heard the name "Raj" before and then confuses it with something completely different? It was an interesting synopsis but I'm not sure if the delivery is there or if it has made caricatures out of its secondary characters in order to prove some point. I found myself comparing it to other recent racially focused books... Such a Fun Age, A Good Neighborhood, and finding it a bit lacking.
