Defining identity and belonging

The words "members only" always put me on edge - the elitism and exclusion they convey. Raj, the narrator of Members Only, is on the inside of that membership, but he doesn't really feel "in," because, unlike him, most of the members are white. Raj's narration is thoughtful, funny, oblivious, and cringeworthy/problematic. The story flows easily, and in the first pages it has already started to discuss important topics. I'm interested to see what insights he has about himself and about society as he grapples with the accusation from his fellow members that he's hostile and racist.
