First things first, this cover is breathtaking and strikingly beautiful. I took a nice long look at it and after about a minute or so of staring at it, only then did I realize there was a gorgeous elephant lurking around the outer section of the main cover.
Okay, so secondly, this book says that its loosely based on Persephone and the myth of her life with Hades and so on and so forth. However, I think authors need to start coming up with new ideas instead of loosely basing their plots, themes, and characters on a story that is so well-known and well-done. When you compare your book to something of that extreme creative level, it almost automatically negates anything beautiful or unique about your own story. I think in the future, these blurbs saying loosely based or for fans of, needs to stop.
