Masquerade by O.O. Sangoyomi is not of my generally preferred genre. The cover foretells of ancient history and the story is indeed set centuries ago in West Africa. While I am not familiar with the political groups of that time and place, Sangoyomi had created some memorable characters. Ododo and her fellow women blacksmith guild members are a mystery to me and I did enjoy learning about their life in the excerpt I read. I give this book 3 stars but would recommend it to anyone who likes ancient history and mythology.
