Making Your Marriage a Fortress is not a good fit for me. I'm not always fond of self-help books and there's too much of a religious focus in this particular book. The cover is straightforward but effective in conveying what's inside. From the table of contents, it seems like there is a variety of topics that may be useful. The writing is easy to read and includes the author's personal examples as well as stories from interviews. At the end of the sample chapter, there was a numbered list summarizing key points. This is a nice feature. I'm guessing each chapter has this. It's great when non-fiction books offer quick summaries like this.

It looks like this book may be best received by readers in the Christian community, especially those who are married, or married people who don't mind the heavily religious aspect.
