This character and premise sound amazing, and the book prologue starts off extremely exciting with hints of magic and then a murder. But when I started reading the first chapter in the point of view of Ivy, I was immediately put off by her telling and swearing. I am intrigued why she doesn't have magic and her job sounds exciting.
