I don't know how to feel about this book. At first, I was very intrigued reading the blurb. Murder? Magic? Mystery? Possible sister rivalry? Cool!
However, as I read the sneak peak, I am left feeling annoyed by the main character. If there's anything that is a reading pet peeve of mine, it's a not very strong and whiny female character. I was left feeling annoyed and a 30 something year old woman should not be giving me the impression of an immature, cynical complainer.
I don't know, she may find her strength and grow as we go along the story but so far, not a strong introduction of the character for me. This comes off to me like a YA story than adult.
Also, the cover looks "old". The graphics and color makes me think of the 70s.
