I've been seeing this book everywhere lately so I had to check it out for myself! I'm not a huge fan of the cover, however that's really not a big deal - it's 'just okay'. The premise though, oh the premise. A magical school with noir detective vibes? Yes, a thousand times yes. I feel like most magic-themed books tend to hyperfocus on the fantastical existence of magic (and honestly why wouldn't they?!), so the fact that this one is going into the grittier parts of the magical world sounds pretty unique and my interest is definitely piqued!
