I loved the main character's voice from the first page of the chapter one—so unique and modern. I am immensely intrigued by the premise: non-magical private eye investigates murder at magical school. I especially love that it's a fantasy from the perspective of someone not directly in the magical world. Definitely want to know what's up with the school and the lies Ivy has told.
The cover is definitely eye-catching, but isn't something I would ordinarily pick up. Only after reading the description was I truly interested.
