Such an engaging opening, I can't wait to see what happens next! Ivy is a compelling character, who knows all about magic but doesn't have any power of her own. I love PI stories, and this one seems to be no exception, especially with the prologue beginning with a murder. The description of the magic school as well was deeply satisfying, knowing that no matter how powerful a bunch of teenagers are, they're still a bunch of teenagers.
