The prologue reads like Harry Potter - a seventeen year old boy at a school for mages, getting up to mischief and hiding from a teacher. And then BAM! you're tossed into a grisly murder scene! Enter Ivy Gamble, PI with a sister who teaches at said magic school. I love how gritty and sort of film noir this book is, with a cynical adult heroine but also being set at a magic school with a bunch of magical teenagers. I can't wait to read the rest!
