I rounded this up and I'm so sad! I think maybe this needed to be at least a duology with how much Voris wants to get done because there is so much to get done. The premise is amazing--space Bonnie and Clyde with the 'space police' following them and he has a rival?? Realistically, this should tick all of my boxes! But it felt too short. The split perspectives mean you don't really get to spend much time with anyone in particular and because it's so short, you really don't know them well enough to have a stake in things. Even Cyrus and Lark, who I was super interested in, didn't hold my attention like it should.

I give credit to Voris for writing a standalone book and writing an ending that I didn't think she'd end up doing, but I just wasn't invested in the characters or in the twist to feel super compelled. Again, I think it's an editing issue, I would have loved to see where this would have gone as a trilogy or even duology.
