I wanted to love this book, but it just fell a little flat for me. All of a sudden, half way through the book, there are suddenly 3 more people in Shane's crew. And I guess we're supposed to care about them? And Cyrus and Lark absolutely despise each other in the academy, but suddenly they're in love after never spending any additional time together I guess? If there had been more time spent making the love story believable to would have appreciated it more. And I'm not even against insta-love either, but this didn't feel like they fell quickly in love. Something about their chemistry just felt off.
I did enjoy some of the side characters. Some of them seemed to have more growth than our main characters did. I'm not sure what else to say about this book. Anything more and I feel like I'm bashing it, but I still have 29 characters to type. Almost there! Yay!
