I'm not generally a huge scifi fan, so I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this. The characters have such strong emotions and clear characters. I'm honestly invested in all their stories, particularly Shane. He's just got out of prison and he doesn't want to admit that he might need a break after it. I'm excited to see where his relationship with Ava goes. Cyrus is a little more tiresome. In a lot of ways he reminds me of Costis from the Queen's Thief Series (who I love), and I'm going to have to work hard to prevent myself from constantly comparing the two of them.
