I enjoyed this first look. Sometimes with space/fantasy books, I get confused easily and it's hard to process the content. I think the author did a great job of introducing the characters and this fantastic universe gradually in a way that is easy to understand. I was able to jump right into this storyline. I already like Shane and Ava's complex relationship and the high energy escape adventure that they are on. I appreciated the jump back in time to see how Ava and Shane met and how their relationship began.
