I thought that this story was an okay read for me overall.
First I want to say that the concept sounds really intriguing--it reminded me of an old Disney Channel Show, The Suite Life on Deck, but with murder. So I can appreciate the author's unique setting for such a murder mystery.
Unfortunately, however, I didn't love this story as much as I was hoping I would. I think the story dragged in some places, and a lot of the twists and turns were predictable for me personally. With that said, the ending did take me by surprise, so I thought the end was well done.
I liked the author's writing style, and thought that the characters were fleshed out for the most part... but there were moments where the characters felt a bit juvenile for my personal liking. They read more like high schoolers than they did college kids doing a semester at sea.
Overall, I'm glad I took a chance on this book. And I'm glad that the book seemingly found its audience.
