I only had a chance to finish half of the First Look before I got pulled away, but that was really all I needed to make up my mind about this book. It's going to be a lot of fun traveling with Jade and the rest of the crew! While I generally have little patience for the jilted lover who has no capacity for anything other than obsessing over an ex, and tying every single mundane thing back to the ex, the way the author has done it (at least so far!) and the way Jade herself calls herself out on doing it make it work here. Getting the snarky, disaffected, catty dialogue to sound believable is no easy task and I've read plenty of authors who fail at it. Diana Urban, though, nails it. I can hear their voices and intonations in my mind as I'm reading. I will finish the First Look because I can't NOT finish it, and I will definitely be reading this book in its entirety as soon as I have the chance.
