I'm cowardly when it comes to suspense or thrillers, so I tend to stray away from those genres of media. However, Lying in the Deep pulled me in despite the bloody prologue. Maybe it's the money-strapped female protagonist willing me to cheer for an "underdog" or the background adventure of a globe-trekking adventure - I'm intrigued.
