The excerpt of Lying in the Deep is interesting. The beginning gets the ball with the right amount of atmosphere, as well as revealing just enough about the characters to draw me in. Immediately, I liked the author’s choice in setting (a cruise ship), which offered a unique and isolated setting for the mystery to take place.
