While the book opens with a gory murder scene, the first impression (4 chapters) focuses on the backstory and the first few days of the Campus on Board where we are introduced to a slew of characters (all potential suspects?!). This is very much a YA story dripping with a lot of angst and insecurity moreso than a thriller/murder mystery (based on the first impression). The characters seem a bit like caricatures (e.g., the influencer, the brooding mystery man) and I'm not sure any of the characters are particularly likeable, but this seems like it'll be a quick read and entertaining for the right audience.
