First, I would like to acknowledge the excitement I had running into this graphic novel. A story where Asian culture and characters are portrayed. With this being a graphic novel, the appreciation for the characters portrayal in image is important. There were no “exaggerated” features; characters and images were relateable, accurate, and diverse. I appreciated the representation.

I think that this has the potential to be a great story. Being able to see the the development of a character from a young child growing into their adolescent years to get a better understanding of how their persona developed is always a plus. I enjoy reading graphic novels for the imagery with the story, feels like a true movie in your head and allows you to fully invest into characters. I like the cultural represation of the chinese dragon dance used at time of celebrations.
