Love & Loss in a graphic novel
Thank you bookish first for this early review book!
This was absolutely adorable. I loved everything about it. The art is beautiful and the message was powerful. I was tearing up there at the end. For a while, I wasn’t sure if I liked Valentina’s dad. It seemed like his motives were selfish even though he seemed to want to say they were for her sake. I would be furious if I was in her shoes. But at the end when he said he never lost true love. Ugh. Waterworks for me.
I liked the evolution of saint V and his different forms. I liked him best as a cute Cupid but I also loved the version of him at the end. My favorite character was Grandma though. She was ready to do everything for Valentina and her dad and I appreciated how cool she was.
This was a great graphic novel dealing with grief and love. There’s different kinds of love and seeing that be explored was great.
