holiday themed graphic novel - lunar new year love story

This was a fitting read for Valentine’s Day & the Lunar New Year! Ironically I started this on the Lunar New Year and finished the day before Valentines 😆 which was perfect. The illustrations in this graphic novel are some of my favorite. The soft color scheme was stunning & the drawings captivated the emotions of each scene. I appreciated how in-depth the inter-character relationship arcs were and the many branches of family & friend drama that our female main character, Val faced. This story touches on failed adult romances and how those have impacted the romantic outlook of their children (our main character and friends). I found the Grandma hilarious and a nice comedic touch to the sometime heavier themes. I loved learning a little about Lion Dancing and the differences between Chinese & Korean cultural details that were within the story.
