This was the cutest love story ever. It was a beautiful depiction of how the adults in a child's life shape their views and interpretations of love and relationships. There was a lot of emphasis on what happens when the lines of communication between a parent and child are either cut off or truths are hidden. It was a beautiful blend of different types of family relationships and romantic relationships. Honestly, this book covered so many great topics and did a fantastic job of doing it, I think most teenagers should read this book. It also incorporates a lot of Chinese, Vietnamese, and Korean culture, like the lunar new year and lion dancing. The art was amazing and did such a great job telling the story, with certain colors and backgrounds being used to illustrate the different emotional situations. Once I picked this up, I couldn't stop reading until I was done. It's such a captivating story, and so much more than a romance. Everything about her family life was just as fascinating as her romantic escapades. Seriously great book, I highly recommend it!
