I have gravitated much more towards minimalism in recent years, especially with a toddler (it’s very easy to save everything!). While I’m certainly not a “perfect” minimalist, there’s a certain way of writing that resonates with me more about the movement, and this is not it. Choppy language, oversimplified self-help tropes, and my goodness in the age of economic instability post-COVID, are you seriously telling me about a family so privileged by their house catching on fire that they saw it as “freedom”? Was this book co-authored by Goop?
