I was so excited to read this book. It sounded super cute and right up alley.
I enjoyed the tenants and how they weren't just neighbors, they were family. I liked that each member had a very quirky personality. I also liked how descriptive the author was, without over doing it. I could picture the velvet walls and out dated sconces.
However, I struggled with this book. I could not connect with the characters at all, and I have found that I have already forgotten everything about it. I found the female main character completely annoying and that put me off. I just didn't feel invested in their story and how it played out. With that being said, I think the plot had potential to be great. I think the idea of mixing the love at first sight trope with enemies to lovers is a brilliant idea. I will try other books from this author, but this one just wasn't my cup of tea.
