The excerpt is definitely well-written, but that alone couldn't hold my interest. There are too many descriptions of what Will can/can't see. I mean, I get it I need glasses too but at least I wear mine instead of pretending I can see. Also it starts on a long, meandery sort of scene with no real hook to pull you in. I just found myself losing interest quickly.
