This is definitely a surprising read!

Thank you again to the publisher and the BookishFirst team for sending me an early copy in exchange for an honest review.

To start, this is a mystery novel that kicks off with a murder of a teen girl in the town of Emerson. Three other teens accompany the victim that night and all are ready to fight tooth and nail to sweep the truth under the rug.

The first thing that I enjoyed is the way the author built up an atmospheric vibe right from the start. It was engrossing and you can feel the way he visualized the settinh of this book.

Another thing that was executed well is the way Stephen Amidon managed to developed an ensemble of cast with notable background and personalities. This is hard to do especially within a mystery backdrop since you have to think of realistic ways to develop each one of them.

However, the ultimate spotlight for me is that ending. That abrupt ending that is open to interpretation is excellently done.

Overall, an amazing and thrilling read!
