I really liked the synopsis of Locust Lane and was hoping to love this book. Unfortunately, it didn't meet my expectations and wasn't enjoyable to read. The story started decently enough (minus the scene with the dog being hit by a car). However, the characters weren't memorable and the storylines felt disjointed. I love a book with multiple POVs, but this was a strength and weakness of this book. I feel as though the emotion and connection the author was trying to convey with the characters never really hit the bullseye. There were times where where the story was overly descriptive, which really slowed down the pacing and made the story dull. Again, I get the intent but feel that it wasn't executed well. While this story was a miss for me, I am sure someone else may enjoy this writing style. I do think that the cover of the book is pretty.
