When Eden Perry is found dead, the three teenagers who last saw her alive are considered suspects. With a large cast of characters, anyone could be the murderer. Stephen Amidon's writing style is compelling and makes you want to read right through to the last page. The story itself is leisurely paced, making it easier to uncover the truth. Character driven and atmospheric, "Locust Lane" spans different perspectives throughout the novel. The parents of the three teenagers are homespun and will do anything to protect their children, even at the expense of their own relationships. Overall, I rated this book 4 stars because I didn't find it memorable, but that doesn't make it any less of a great read. If you love a book about the intricate workings of a small town, and also a murder mystery, put "Locust Lane" by Stephen Amidon on the top of your list.
