The events of the prologue are a shocking start that had me immediately hooked! I love the writing style and tone; the author has a way with prose. We are able to learn so much through implications made in a few simple lines. Placing us inside the minds of the characters, we are given a very insightful look into the way that they see and interact with the world around them and their motivations for their actions. The way the author illustrates the setting really transports you into this story, with unique metaphoric and descriptive language that gives depth to the scenes. In this first look, we get a vivid portrait of our characters, how their lives intertwine, and what their home lives and relationships are like. I love the investigative side of this story as well. It's a domestic-type thriller, but centered around their teenagers. I think it will be full of drama and secrets, even just from this short excerpt the plot is already thickening. We can already see some of the connections that are being made and piecing information together between the different perspectives that the story is told through. I'm definitely invested in this story and I can't wait to dive deeper into it and see how it all turns out! This is a release I'm really excited about and has been on my tbr list for a while. I also love this cover! The colors are beautiful, it feels atmospheric, and it really gives off the eerie vibes that I think are perfectly fitting for this story.
