I almost stopped reading this excerpt during the prologue. I’m not a fan of harming an animal but I’m glad I continued reading. The encounter in the prologue obviously has something to do with the murder of a young woman. Who exactly was hiding in the bushes? What does the distress of three teenage friends have to do with the murder, if anything? I’m anxious to find out!
