First, let me note that I’ve already read this book. Or, more accurately, I’ve read half of it. It started off in an intriguing fashion, but it ultimately failed to hold my attention. I generally love books with social commentary and am very fond of character studies. However, I do think there is such a thing as too much character development. There was a great deal of focus on who these people are and although it bears relevance, it’s terribly drawn out. The overlapping timelines for each perspective make it even more so.
