*Thank you to BookishFirst and Macmillan for this finished copy of Little Thieves by Margaret Owen in exchange for an honest review* Overall I really enjoyed Little Thieves and never knew it was based on a fairytale called “The Little Goose Girl”. It was also a welcome change from all the standard retellings. Vanja was sold off when she was a sold off when she was a very young child to fortune and death.

They raised her as their own until she becomes a maid to a princess and her powerful family.
Until the day she gets tried of being a servant and decides to steal her life for her own. Not having known anything about the story it is based on. It took me a little while to get into the story, but I really enjoyed how the book was structured and it’s pace. It is broken up as the beginnings of new tales. Vanja’s story was very unique and she didn’t feel like the typical character or displayed the normal tropes you see a lot of heroines go through she was engaging. I am looking forward to reading the sequel.
